President’s Corner

As I reflect on the journey of our association, my heartfelt appreciation goes to the leaders who served before us and those who continue to step forward in service. We are so blessed as our past and current board members are more than volunteers, they are mentors, visionaries, and a constant source of inspiration. Their wealth of knowledge, dedication to excellence, deeply rooted love for our state’s organization and passion for advancing our profession have built the strong foundation we stand on today. Through their leadership, we are not only sustaining our mission but expanding it in meaningful and impactful ways.

To our membership, THANK YOU. Your continued support, engagement, and belief in the work we do are what keeps this organization thriving. Whether you attend our educational events, share your expertise, mentor a colleague, or advocate for the importance of quality cancer data, you are contributing to something bigger than ourselves. Our strength comes from the collective commitment of professionals who care deeply about education, collaboration, the future of the profession and ultimately quality oncology data that drives research and ultimately improves outcomes.

I encourage each of you to consider becoming more involved, as this is YOUR state association. Volunteering – whether on a committee, a project, or in a leadership role – is not only vital to the sustainability of our organization but it is also one of the most rewarding ways to grow professionally, build lasting connections, establish life-long friendships and help shape the future of our profession. TxODA exists because of you, has been shaped by you, and it will continue to flourish through your talent and voice.

I am incredibly optimistic about what lies ahead for TxODA. Together, we will continue to strengthen our educational offerings through our monthly Lunch and Learn series and Annual Educational Conferences, support one another through networking and mentorship, always aiming at elevating the role of the Oncology Data Specialist. I look forward to the bright future of our association and reiterate our continued commitment to promoting education staying at the forefront of the ever-evolving healthcare landscape, cancer care standards, oncology research, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we ultimately serve – the patients.
